Why I Will Always Be in My Own Fitness Business
If you work for someone else they control what and when you do it.
If you want to go on holidays, you have to get it approved, even then you are generally only allowed 4 weeks per year.
If you want to take a long weekend, well you probably won’t be allowed unless you have days owing to you.
If you want to take the morning or afternoon off, you have to ask for approval and I don’t think it would not go down too well with the boss, especially if you wanted to do it every week.
I love having long weekends, every week! I love starting and finishing whenever I want – this enables me to have fun with my amazing friends and my 2 special babies.
I am not telling you this to rub it in, I am telling you this because YES you to can be a personal trainer who live like this.
In saying that though it has taken me 2 years to get into this position working 80+ hours per week however that has all been worth it because now I live a great lifestyle whilst helping the most amazing personal trainers across Australia who are also living this lifestyle.
Some say that having a job is more secure than being in business, I disagree. I can control what happens in my business and so can you.

Kel, this is awesome! I spent 6 years working in a 9 to 5 office job. I then traveled overseas for two years working as a PT. I always visualized running my own business and working on my own terms back home. With persistence, discipline and hard work (and lots of goal setting) it became reality and I would NEVER look back. You get to determine your own success. The harder you work, the bigger the reward. It’s so awesome. As you said Kel, having control of what happens is an amazing thing. AS I always say… dream it, believe in it and you’ll achieve it
