Most Common Marketing Mistakes by Personal Trainers

It’s amazing how we keep coming across the same mistakes personal trainers are making!

Here are 4 mistakes personal trainers make on a regular basis!

1. Have the logo as your headline!  No one cares about your logo! They care about what you can do for them so move your logo to the bottom and make it smaller! Create a headline that hits a soft spot with your target market so that they take action.

2. Throw marketing dollars to anyone and everything! Know your numbers, know exactly what marketing has worked in the past by tracking the leads coming through. If you have not tried a particular type ENSURE you test and measure the effectiveness of the campaign, do not believe everything a sales rep tells you!

3. Stop and start marketing! You need to create momentum and promotion is a 6 week cycle. Promote today, business increases 6 weeks later. Many personal trainers promote for 4 weeks and stop because nothing happens, 2 weeks later there is an increase. For 4 weeks business remains strong then drops off because 6 weeks earlier they stopped promoting (obviously it takes more than just advertising – need the fundamentals plus a desirable product). It’s not difficult and it does not have to cost you loads of dollars, there are many cost effective ways you can market – if you have no idea email me kellie@ptbusinesssuccess.com and I will send you a copy of the 23 Cost Effective Ways you can Market Your Personal Training Business for FREE to get you started!

4. Not having a plan for the next 12 months! You need to have a plan for how you intend to attract new clients, need to look back at what has worked really well in the past and what not to invest advertising dollars in (again the importance of knowing your numbers).
